The Law Foundation of Ontario is pleased to announce that, following an extensive search, Tanya Lee will be its new CEO effective July 1, 2015. Under her leadership, the Foundation will continue its role as a strategic grantor that works collaboratively with others in furthering access to justice.
Tanya was the Foundation’s Director of Policy and Programs, responsible for developing and managing all the Foundation’s granting programs. Prior to that she was Director of the Foundation’s Access to Justice Fund, a national granting program, as well as the Connecting Project, an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing access to justice for linguistic minorities and rural and remote residents.
Tanya had a distinguished career at the Ministry of the Attorney General where she was Counsel in the Constitutional Law Branch, arguing significant cases at all levels of court, and she developed policy relating to court reform, legal aid, and human rights issues. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Yale Law Schools and clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Tanya succeeds Elizabeth Goldberg who is stepping down after providing exemplary leadership to the Foundation.
