The Law Foundation of Ontario is pleased to announce the hiring of Lara Sanders, CPA, CMA, as our new Director, Strategic Finance.

Commencing June 13, Lara will provide leadership and oversight for all financial strategies, systems, and processes for the Foundation, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. She will also advise on the strategic direction of investments and the use of funds.

“We’re thrilled to be welcoming Lara,” says Lisa Cirillo, the Foundation’s CEO. “In addition to her extensive finance experience, she brings deep insight from both the banking and nonprofit sectors.”

Lara brings a broad range of international and domestic experience in senior financial roles. She spent several years in London, England, working in financial reporting and analysis at Barclays and Deutsche Bank, and later as a financial consultant for a variety of banking industry clients.

Since moving back to Canada, Lara has worked exclusively in the nonprofit sector. She held progressive positions with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) with responsibility for hospital-wide planning and forecasting processes. Lara also served as the inaugural Director of Finance and Administration with the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto.

Most recently, Lara was the Director of Finance with Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen), a nonprofit organization that facilitates funding and collaboration opportunities for Canada’s advanced manufacturing sector.

Lara is replacing Judy Mark, the Foundation’s long-serving Director, Strategic Finance and Administration, who is retiring. We thank Judy for her many years of dedicated service and wish her the very best in her new chapter.
