About

The Law Foundation of Ontario invites prospective host organizations to apply to the Public Interest Articling Fellowship (PIAF) program for the 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28 articling terms.

The PIAF program offers articling students unique work experiences in public interest law while increasing the capacity of nonprofit organizations to respond to significant legal needs.

Host organizations hire a student for a 10-month articling period through the Lawyer Licensing Process governed by the Law Society of Ontario and must provide them with appropriate work, supervision, and support. Grants will cover the associated costs and will be awarded for 3 years (to support 3 consecutive articling students), with years 2 and 3 conditional on satisfactory reporting to the Foundation.
