Community knows what community needs. This iconic mantra has shaped philanthropy worldwide. It essentially means that the people most affected by a situation are the ones who know best how to address it. The Law Foundation of Ontario has always prioritized this type of grantmaking, particularly through our Responsive program. In 2025, we made an unprecedented amount of Responsive grants, in both number and funds. We approved close to $22M to support 83 grants. To recognize this significant granting, the annual report highlights our Responsive program and the types of community-driven projects it supports.
