WHAT

The Community Leadership in Justice Fellowship (CLJF) is a paid fellowship that gives nonprofit leaders a unique professional development opportunity to further their careers and their causes while building bridges between community and academia, leaving a lasting access to justice legacy for both.

The CLJF allows senior-level leaders from nonprofit public interest organizations to spend all or part of an academic year working within an Ontario university, law school, or college in a legal or justice studies related department, with a common focus on improving access to justice.

The Foundation provides funding for up to a maximum of $65K toward the cost of the fellow’s salary and up to $15K to the academic host for equipment and program-related expenses.

Fellows plan and implement new, individual projects, leading activities such as research, teaching, mentorship, lectures, events, and network building and collaborations. Funded activities cannot be for replacement faculty to teach an existing course.
